Hurricane Dorian has come and gone and while we didn’t feel effects on the weather here in Macon-Bibb, we still played an important role for those who evacuated from the coast. In connection with the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and dozens of partner organizations, we opened a shelter for humans, and a separate shelter for pets. Through the course of the storm, we housed 125 people and 8 pets. MaconBibbTV spoke with EMA Director Spencer Hawkins about our role in the response.
