Macon Regional Crimestoppers celebrated 14 years of success with its annual luncheon on November 17. Nearly 500 law enforcement officers and community leaders gathered to support the organization, and the Macon Rotary Clubs presented Crimestoppers’ local board chair Warren Selby with its biggest check yet, $102,200. Monroe County Sheriff John Kerry Bittick thanked the community for its support for fallen Deputy Michael Norris, the first Monroe Deputy to die in the line of duty, his partner Jeff Wilson who was wounded during the service call, and for his entire department. The group honored Deputy Wilson with a lengthy standing ovation.
